Terranycteris is a hybrid formed from the DNA of a Vespertilionid bat and a cheetah.
The geneticists aimed at creating a felid that had the ability to fly; unfortunately, the resulting creature was not at all what they had expected. Although the animal is blind, it has extremely keen hearing and it is estimated that it can sense any sound ranging from 14,000 to well over 100,000 Hertz. It has been found to be a completely nocturnal animal, and can run at up to 65 mph while utilizing vocal echolocation to locate its prey. Like its feline family, it is completely carnivorous. It has a large, complex brain and is very clever, independent, and scheming. CAUTION: THIS ANIMAL IS VERY DANGEROUS IF APPROACHED BY HUMANS THAT HAVE AN UNFAMILIAR SHAPE AND SMELL.
It has since its creation been called "terranycteris" or a "terranycterid mammal", from the latin "terra", meaning earth, or of the earth, and "nycteris", from the Greek word for bat, as the creature is essentially an earthbound batlike hunter. No taxonomic classification has been proposed.
Its dentition has been identified as I1:C1: P3:M0 upper, and I2:C1: P2:M1 lower. Its carnassial pair is located P3/M1. It has bicuspid canines, for as of yet unknown reasons.

This is my entry for the Splice contest - a little last minute, but I only really heard of the contest two days ago... If anyone has any questions about the mammal, ask! I have worked pretty hard on this for the past couple days and would love to hear what you all have to say.
This was done with watercolor, pencil, and a ballpoint pen. I used references for the feline anatomy.
Three things. One, this is amazing as it is the combination of my two favorite animals. two, I'd like to see a baby and am wondering if they are more like kittens or bats in behavior. Three, where can I get one?
